Card & App Security Guidelines

Modified on Fri, 11 Jul at 1:58 PM

At Weavr, your security is our priority. Protecting your card details and personal information helps keep your finances safe. Please follow these important guidelines to safeguard your card and prevent unauthorised access.

Keep Your Card Details Private

  • Never share your PIN or full card number with anyone, not even friends or family.

  • Avoid writing your PIN on paper, post-it notes, or saving it with your card. If you must write it down, keep it somewhere secure and separate from your card.

  • Memorise your PIN or use a secure password manager instead.

Be Cautious Online and Offline

  • Only enter your card details on secure websites (look for “https://” and a padlock icon in the browser).

  • Avoid saving card details on public or shared devices.

  • Don’t share your card information via email, text message, or social media. These are not secure channels.

  • When making payments, ensure you are using trusted and official apps or platforms.

Secure Your Mobile & Banking Apps

  • Download apps only from official app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) to avoid fake or malicious apps.

  • Keep your apps updated regularly to benefit from the latest security patches and features.

  • Use strong, unique passwords or biometric authentication (fingerprint, facial recognition) to access your apps.

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for your financial and payment apps whenever possible.

  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi when accessing banking or payment apps; use a secure network or VPN instead.

  • Log out of your financial apps when not in use, especially on shared devices.

Protect Your Physical Card

  • Keep your card in a safe place and never lend it to others.

  • Check your card regularly for any signs of tampering or damage.

  • If your card is lost or stolen, report it to your bank or financial institution immediately.

Monitor Your Account Activity

  • Regularly review your bank and card statements for any unauthorised or suspicious transactions.

  • Set up alerts with your bank to receive notifications for transactions on your card.

  • If you notice anything unusual, contact your bank immediately.

Use Additional Security Features

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible for added protection.

  • Use biometric authentication (fingerprint, facial recognition) on supported devices.

  • Keep your phone and computer software updated to protect against malware.

Beware of Fraud & Scams

  • Never provide your card details in response to unsolicited calls, emails, or messages claiming to be from your bank. Always verify their identity through official channels.

  • Be cautious with offers or requests for urgent payments—these can be scams.

  • Report any suspicious contact or transactions to your bank and to Weavr immediately.

Remember: Your vigilance is key to protecting your financial information.
